Is a duende similar to a leprechaun ?

Ive been researching and i found in some article that a duende is like a leprechaun, fairy and and goblin. Then i came across a blog and they thought it was similar to a leprechaun which i read here
http://expatiallymexico.wordpress.com/2012/08/17/mexican-mythology-duendes-and-aluxes/
But then i read other articles and it says that its like a fairy or a goblin which i read here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duende_(mythology)
So now i got confused if it is similar to a leprchaun or not.
